Than Shwe will follow Saddam Hu-Sein

Than Shwe

will follow

Saddam Hu-Sein

In Burmese, Sein is diamond and Shwe means Gold.

Usually Sein and Shwe are regarded as companions or paired items.

Nowadays there is a Tabong (superstitiously believed, widespread sayings amongst people with expectation and anticipation with the eager hope and wishes to come true) that_

Shwe would follow Sein” or in other words

“After Sein it is Shwe’s turn.”

Saddam Hussein (or SEIN=diamond in Burmese) is no more free to roam and terrorize its hapless people, thank to the rescuing forces of UN, US and Allied NATO forces but Than Shwe (SHWE=gold in Burmese) alone is roaming freely terrorizing the whole Myanmar or Burma. Now Yangon Capital is demoted and similar to the status of Basra. Pyinmana is now promoted to be capital and is about 300 miles in north of Yangon. So now Pyinmana follows and is similar in status with its sister capital Baghdad which is also about 300 miles north of Basra.I was wondering whether Than Shwe and cohorts could avoid the International Criminal Court by following the fate of Hitler or Milosevic by deciding to ‘suicide’. I think that Than Shwe would follow and show off like Saddam Hussein by arguing his own case at the International Criminal Court.

Saddam Hu-Sein, after capture Than Shwe, yet not captured
Sein = Diamond in Burmese, Diamond first Shwe = Gold in Burmese, Gold follows
. Note: During the colonial time, if I am not wrong, Burmese Patriotic Monk U Ottama paste the stamp on the envelope of a letter with the King’s picture upside-down and written below that he had pasted the dog’s head in reverse. Sorry, I am a coward, I dare not yet do like that.
Born in April 28, 1937. Born in February 2, 1933 only
Saddam Hussein was born in the town of Al-Awja, 8 miles (13 km) from the Iraqi town of Tikrit, to a family of shepherds. It is in the central and nothern part of the country. Than Shwe was born in Kyaukse, a small town about 20 miles near Mandalay. It is in the central and nothern part of the country.Same as Saddam, Than Shwe’s father passed away when he was about 10 years old and became an orphan. Both his parents were pure Burmese Buddhist but his mother later remarried to a Burmese-Muslim man. Than Shwe was teased as a “KALA LAY” by all the friends. Than Shwe’s wife, Kyaing Kyanig, is not a pure Pa-O nor Kayin as all the people believed. She is half Chinese. She gives up all the Chinese customs and pretends to be a Pure Burmese. She secretly kept the tradition of worshiping the Ghosts and ancestors and secretly cerebrate the Hungry Ghost festival yearly.
Later in his life, relatives from his native Tikrit would become some of his closest advisors and supporters. Later in his life, some relatives from his native Kyaukse are favoured in promotion, transfer and given some scholarships to study abroad.
His stepfather, Ibrahim al-Hassan, treated Saddam harshly after his return. He was abusive and forced the young boy to steal chickens and sheep for resale. He worked in the Burmese postal service, but at age 20 enlisted in the army,
As president, Saddam ran an authoritarian government. As the Head of state, Than Shwe also runs the authoritarian government.
Pan-Arab nationalism of Gamal Abdel Nasser in Egypt profoundly influence the young Ba’athist, Sadaam Hussein even up to the present day. Burmese Military Chauvanist ideas of General Ne Win profoundly influence Than Shwe, even up to the present day.
Iraqi society is divided along lines of language, religion and ethnicity. Burmese society is also divided along lines of language, religion and ethnicity.
Saddam made frequent references to the Abbasid period, when Baghdad was the political, cultural, and economic capital of the Arab world. He also promoted Iraq’s pre-Islamic role as the ancient cradle of civilization Mesopotamia, alluding to such historical figures as Nebuchadrezzar and Hammurabi. Than Shwe made frequent references to the Kongbong period, when Mandalay was the political, cultural, and economic capital of the Burma. He also promoted Burma’s pre-Buddhist role of Ayi Gyi’s as the ancient cradle of civilization in pre Pagan period by encouraging his SPDC Soldiers to use rape as a weapon on Ethnic Minorities. He claimed to be decendent of last Burmese King Thibaw.
Saddam use clones to avoid aassassination attempts. Than Shwe read about the Saddam clones and start day dreaming that the real last Burmese King Thibaw was not captured nor exiled to India. King’s clone took his place and the real King Thibaw runaway to nearby Kyaukse and Than Shwe foolishly thought that he is the real desendent of Thibaw.
Sometimes he would also be portrayed as a devout Muslim, wearing full headdress and robe, praying regularly. Sometimes he would also be portrayed as a devout Buddhist, donating and praying at monastries and pagodas.
Saddam married Sajida Talfah in 1958. Than Shwe’s wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing, who is an ethnic Pa-o, plays a major role in politics. She is known to have taken bribes, and was involved in a public bribery scandal in 2004.
Saddam headed the Baath Socialist Party founded by his predecessors. Than Shwe’s stepfather Ne Win founded the Burma Socialist Programme Party, Shwe inherited it and changed the name to Union Solidarity and Development Association (USDA). Even that name, emblem and the organization form is the replica of Ne Win’s creation during 50’s first coup.
The Ba’ath Party’s paramilitary, the People’s Army acted as a counterweight against any coup attempts by the regular armed forces. Union Solidarity and Development Association (USDA) is one of the strong arms supporting Than Shwe only.
In addition to the People’s Army, the Department of General Intelligence (Mukhabarat) was the most notorious arm of the state security system, feared for its use of torture and assassination. In addition to the People’s Army or Myanmar Tatmadaw, the Department of Military Intelligence (MI) was the most notorious arm of the state security system, feared for its use of torture and assassination.
Saddam Hussein ordered the suppression and ethnic cleansing of Kurds and Shiites. Than Shwe ordered the ethnic cleansing of Ethnic Minorities and Rohingyas. He continued the persecution of Myanmar’s ethnic minorities, such as the Karen and Shan peoples. He launched a campaign of repression against the people that forced them to flee to neighbouring countries as refugees.
DujailIn 1982, during a visit to Dujail, Saddam was to address and praise the city’s residents for their support and contributions in the Iran conflict, when an assassination attempt was mounted against him. The town of Dujail lies 40 km (25 miles) north of Baghdad; Saddam’s security forces in return attacked the city, killing and executing up to 137 of its inhabitants, including a number of children. Around 1,500 townspeople were sent to prison and tortured. The entire town was also punished by having 1,000 square kilometres (250,000 acres) of farmland destroyed; replanting was only permitted 10 years later. The events in Dujail became the subject of criminal charges following Saddam’s overthrow in 2003. DepayinIt happened later on 30 May 2003, hundreds of government-organized thugs carried out a well-organized and premeditated attack on members and supporters of the National League for Democracy, killing, according to eyewitness accounts, at least 70 people. Although this was but one of many atrocities committed by the Government of Myanmar against its citizens, it should be regarded with particular seriousness given the number of persons killed at one time, the extent to which the event appears to have been planned in advance with the connivance of the highest authorities, and because it directly targeted the embodiment of popular democratic aspirations in Myanmar, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. ( Asia Legal Resource Centre) Daw Suu and many NLD members were sent TOJAIL.
Iraq signed an aid pact with the Soviet Union in 1972, and arms were sent along with several thousand advisers. Burma secretly signed an aid pact with the Soviet Union in 2002, and arms were sent along with several thousand advisers.
Saddam initiated Iraq’s nuclear enrichment project in the 1980s, with French assistance. It was destroyed by an Israeli air strike. Than Shwe initiated Myanmar’s nuclear enrichment project in the 2000’s, with Russia, North Korea, China and Pakistan’s assistance. It would be destroyed later by an US air strike.
Cooperation between the United States and the Soviet Union made possible the passage of resolutions in the United Nations Security Council giving Iraq a deadline to leave Kuwait and approving the use of force if Saddam did not comply with the timetable. We hope and pray that similar cooperation between the United States and the Soviet Union would soon made possible the passage of resolutions in the United Nations Security Council giving Myanmar a deadline to leave Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and NLD alone and approving the use of force if Than Shwe did not comply with the timetable to implement democracy.
Saddam ignored the Security Council deadline. With unanimous backing from the Security Council, a U.S.-led coalition launched round-the-clock missile and aerial attacks on Iraq, beginning January 16, 1991. Than Shwe is also likely to ignore the Security Council deadline. With unanimous backing from the Security Council, a U.S.-led coalition could launched round-the-clock missile and aerial attacks on Pyinmana Naypyidaw’s Military HQ.
In the end, the over-manned and under-equipped Iraqi army proved unable to compete on the battlefield with the highly mobile coalition land forces and their overpowering air support. The same fate may follow in the end, the over-manned and under-equipped Myanmar Tatmadaw proved unable to compete on the battlefield with the highly mobile coalition land forces and their overpowering air support.
Some 175,000 Iraqis were taken prisoner and casualties were estimated at approximately 20,000 according to U.S. data, with other sources pinning the number as high as 100,000. No one know how many SPDC soldiers would be taken as prisoners and the number of casualities yet.
Iraq‘s ethnic and religious divisions, together with the resulting postwar devastation, laid the groundwork for new rebellions within the country. We have to learn lessons from this and try to avoid those undesired side effects. We need to consider this urgently.
Saddam’s sons, Uday Hussein and Qusay Hussein, became increasingly powerful and carried out a private reign of terror. Than Shwe children especially daughters and illegal son-in-law became increasingly powerful and carried out a private reign of corruption and monopoly in economy and government contracts.
In his January 2002 state-of-the-union message to Congress, President George W. Bush spoke of an “axis of evil” comprising Iran, North Korea, and Iraq. Moreover, Bush announced that he would possibly take action to topple the Iraqi government. President George W. Bush also put Burma in the “axis of evil“.
Sadaam asked his people to eat one meal only. Than Shwe ordered Kyaw San to advise people to be thrifty and eat less.
Hidden in the underground places. Trying to follow his methods of hiding in the underground places. New Pyinmana Naypyidaw palace had underground bunkers and tunnels to escape.
Since 1982, foreign observers believed that this department operated both at home and abroad in their mission to seek out and eliminate perceived opponents of Saddam Hussein. Since 1992, we all believed that Than Shwe’s spies and assacins had operated both at home and abroad in their mission to seek out and eliminate perceived opponents of Than Shwe.
Learned many things from his uncle, especially the lesson that he should never back down from his enemies, no matter how superior their numbers or capabilities. Learned many things from his godfather Ne Win, especially the lesson that he should never back down from his enemies, no matter how superior their numbers or capabilities.
Vocal supporter of Iraq’s participation in the affairs of Arab and Islamic countries. A vocal supporter of Myanmar’s participation in the Association of South East Asian Nations
Saddam was involved in the plot to assassinate Prime Minister Qassim. Army officers with ties to the Ba’ath Party overthrew Qassim in a coup in 1963. Than Shwe plotted the forced resignation of General Saw Maung, the house arrest of General Ne Win and the arrests and prosecutions Ne Win’s son-in-law, grand children and General Khin Nyunt.
In 1976, Saddam rose to the position of general in the Iraqi armed forces. He rapidly became the strongman of the government. In 1960, he was promoted to the rank of captain. After the military coup which ousted Prime Minister U Nu in 1962, Than Shwe continued rising through the ranks. He reached lieutenant colonel in 1972, colonel in 1978, Commander of the Military District of the South West in 1983, Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, brigadier-general and Vice-Minister of Defence in 1985 and then major-general in 1986. He also obtained a seat on the ruling party’s Central Executive Committee.
The Ba’ath’s ruling clique named Saddam vice-chairman of the Iraqi Revolutionary Command Council and vice president of Iraq. When the State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC) was created as a response to the bloody protests of 1988, Than Shwe was appointed as one of its 21 members. He grew to become the right-hand man of then ruler, General Saw Maung.,
As Iraq’s weak and elderly President Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr became increasingly unable to execute his duties, Saddam took on an increasingly prominent role as the face of the government both internally and externally.Saddam consolidated power in a nation riddled with profound tensions. On 23 April 1992, Saw Maung unexpectedly was forced to resign, citing health reasons, and Than Shwe replaced him as Chairman of the Council, head of state, Secretary of Defence and commander-in-chief of the armed forces.the ruler of Myanmar (Burma), serving as chairman of the State Peace and Development Council since April 23, 1992.
Long before Saddam, Iraq had been split along social, ethnic, religious, and economic fault lines. Long before Than Shwe, Myanmar had been split along social, ethnic, religious, and economic fault lines:
Saddam implemented a national infrastructure campaign that made great progress in building roads, promoting mining, and developing other industries. Than Shwe implemented a national infrastructure campaign that made great progress in building roads and bridges but all are in low quality.
President of Iraq from 1979. The ruler of Myanmar (Burma), serving as chairman of the State Peace and Development Council since April 23, 1992.Than Shwe,
He was famous as an interrogator and torturer at the infamous “Palace of the End.” The specialist in psychological warfare. Leading the slaughter of thousands of demonstrators, numerous ethnic minorities, Muslims and Rohingyas.
United States-led invasion of Iraq reached Baghdad on April 9, 2003. We all are waiting for the time United States-led invasion of Burma/Myanmar reached Pyinmana Naypyidaw.
Saddam’s government repressed movements that it deemed threatening, particularly those of ethnic or religious groups that sought independence or autonomy. Than Shwe’s SPDC government repressed movements that it deemed threatening, particularly those of ethnic or religious groups that sought independence or autonomy
Remained a popular hero among many Arabs for standing up to Israel and the United States, Regrettably Than Shwe was and is never regarded as a Hero.
Saddam was deposed by the United States and its allies during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. We hope and pray that Than Shwe would be deposed soon by the United States and its allies during the invasion of Burma/Myanmar.
Captured by U.S. forces on December 13, 2003, Future fugitive. He also would be definitely captured by the opposition forces.
Saddam is standing trial charged with crimes against humanity before the Iraq Special Tribunal, established by the Iraqi Interim Government. Going to be indicted soon by International Criminal Court or tribunal. Multiple counts of crimes against humanity extermination, murder.Interpol warrant coming soon.
The Iraqi government and military collapsed within three weeks of the beginning of the U.S.-led 2003 invasion of Iraq on March 20. The United States made at least two attempts to kill Saddam with targeted air strikes, but both failed to hit their target. By the beginning of April, Coalition forces occupied much of Iraq. The resistance of the much-weakened Iraqi Army either crumbled or shifted to guerrilla tactics, and it appeared that Saddam had lost control of Iraq. He was last seen in a video which purported to show him in the Baghdad suburbs surrounded by supporters. When Baghdad fell to the Coalition on April 9, Saddam was still preparing to leave. The SPDC government and military could also collapsed within a couple of weeks of the beginning of the U.S.-led invasion of Burma/Myanmar.For the: targeted air strikes. beginning of occupation Coalition forces much of Myanmar. The resistance of the much-weakened Myanmar- Tatmadaw either crumbled or shifted to guerrilla tactics. Than Shwe lost control of Myanmar. His last seen in a video which purported to show him in the Kyaukse suburbs surrounded by supporters. When Pyinmana fell to the Coalition Than Shwe would still preparing to leave … coming soon. Please wait and see on the silver screen.
According to his eldest daughter Raghad Hussein he was by this point aware of the “betrayal” of a number of key figures involved in the defence of Baghdad. It appears there was a lot of confusion between Iraqi commanders in different sectors of the capital and communication between them and Saddam and between Saddam and his family were becoming increasingly difficult. According to his son-in-law U Tayza he was by this point aware of the “betrayal” of a number of key figures involved in the defence of Naypyidaw. It appears there was a lot of confusion between Tatmadaw commanders in different sectors of the capital and communication between them and Than Shwe and between Than Shwe and his family were becoming increasingly difficult. (possible senerio in Myanmar soon.)
Saddam Hussein was at the top of the “most-wanted list,” and many of the other leaders of the Iraqi government were arrested, but extensive efforts to find him had little effect. Than Shwe would get that place top of the “most-wanted list,” And many of the other leaders of the SPDC government would be arrested. Than Shwe would probably go into hiding – in the mountainous Kyat Pyae area protected by paramilitaries or Kyant Phuts.
On December 14, 2003, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) of Iran first reported that Saddam Hussein had been arrested, citing Kurdish leader Jalal Talabani. These reports were soon confirmed by other members of the Governing Council, by U.S. military sources, and by British prime minister Tony Blair. In a press conference in Baghdad, shortly afterwards, the U.S. civil administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer, formally announced the capture of Saddam Hussein by saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, we got him.” Bremer reported that Saddam had been captured at approximately 8:30 p.m. Iraqi time on December 13, in an underground “spider hole” at a farmhouse in ad-Dawr near his home town Tikrit, in what was called Operation Red Dawn. [24] Bremer presented video footage of Saddam in custody. Could be arrested and later indicted for the multiple counts of genocide. Assault at Depayin, crimes against humanity, , genocide, grave breaches of the 1949 Geneva conventions, murder, plunder, arresting the leaders of Shan leaders and NLD leaders. Persecutions on political, racial and religious grounds, persecutions, inhumane acts (forcible transfer). Violations of the laws or customs of war (Article 3 of the Statute – murder, unlawfully inflicting terror upon civilians.
On June 30, 2004, Saddam Hussein (held in custody by U.S. forces at Camp Cropper in Baghdad), and 11 senior Ba’athist officials were handed over legally (though not physically, as there is, at present, no adequate Iraqi prison to hold them) to the interim Iraqi government to stand trial for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. Particular attention will be paid to his activities in violent campaigns against the Kurds in the north during the Iran-Iraq War, and against the Shiites in the south in 1991 and 1999 to put down revolts. Just wait and see on the silver screen.
On July 1, 2004, the first legal hearing in Saddam’s case was held before the Iraqi Special Tribunal. Than Shwe is going to be indicted together with Vice-chairman of SPDC: Maung Aye, Prime minister: Soe Winand SPDC soldiers, commanders, Police personnals, Kyant Phuts and numerous collobrators. etc.
USA’s efforts to get a mandate for Iraq were previously blocked by China, Russia and others. USA’s efforts to get a mandate for Burma/Myanmar are now blocked by China, Russia and others.

If we want to buy a diamond ring we used to look at the diamond first: its quality, caret size, clearity, cutting, colour to determine the price. Then only we look at the gold’s quality. So it is natural “SEIN” or diamond first and “SHWE” or gold follows.

THAN SHWE try to avert or ward off that fate by ‘Yataya Che’ with the help of astrologers and manufactured a rumour that all the GOLDS (SHWE) in the country are empty causing the gold prices out of control. And in Burmese we used to say SEIN SHWE YADANA. So After Sein it must be Shwe.

We all Burmese citizens of all the races and all the different religions are praying that Shwe would follow Sein soon.

General Ne Win was best leader after U Nu despite his personal life and economic policy i.e. nationalization without second thought and education policy. Multi party will not suit in our Country, anyway I personally praise General Ne Win, why I’m doing that? In front of me past and present, I seen both period so this is my observation, I’m sure some will agree with me.

Hell Hounds at large: Radovan Karadžić and Than Shwe

Hell Hounds at large:

Radovan Karadžić

and Than Shwe

I am right to call both of them Hell hounds but Radovan Karadzic is no-more free to roam and terrorize its helpless people, thank to the rescuing forces of UN, US and Allied NATO forces but Than Shwe alone is roaming freely terrorizing the whole Myanmar or Burma. He is not the human king but king of the jungle, ruling the Myanmar with the ‘Rules of the Jungle’. But he is not even the Lion King nor Saddan Sin Min (legendary Elephant King) but a Hell Hound only.

There is currently an outstanding international arrest warrant against Karadžić following the Rule 61 of ICTY which concluded that there are reasonable grounds for believing that the accused has committed the crimes in question including genocide. US government has since offered a $5 million award for his arrests.

I was wondering whether Than Shwe and cohorts could avoid the International Criminal Court by following the fate of Hitler or Milosevic by deciding to die. My suggesting that Than Shwe and cohorts could show off like Saddam Hussein or Milosevic by arguing their own cases at the International Criminal Court by an attack is also not possible. They are trying to use the axiom in the football, ‘the best defence is attack.’

UNSC is almost paralysed by the blockage of China and Russia’s vetoes. USA is bogged down by Iraq. Buddha had already entered the Parinibban (Nirvana) and not ready to answer our prayers. So we have no one to turn to. But Buddha had entrusted the Tha Gyar Min (King of gods) to take the responsibility to monitor the human beings. Tha Gyar Min’s Emerald bed’s foam mattress’s sudden hardening as a warning sign of serious problems on earth is also no more useful because Tha Gyar Min is already away from the bed on the field duty in Burma. The only positive point is: Tha Gyar Min even need not use his ‘Diva Sakkhu’ or Angel Telescope to investigate this, he already knows all. But he had failed his duty to look after Buddha’s subjects.

Dear Pho Tha Gyar Min, Thingyan is not over yet and we all know that you are still on earth busy with your job of recording the sinners in dog-leather merit book. But those SPDG Generals or Hell Hounds at large in Myanmar are never afraid of Sansara or the life hereafter. They are not scared that their name would be recorded in your dog leather book. They believe that the ‘Power come out from the barrel of the guns’ only. But if Tha Gyar Min shoots them with the lightening thunder weapon their body would be burnt and useless. We heard that your stock of dog leather books is very low. We hereby suggested Tha Gyar Min to skin alive those Hell Hounds at large in Myanmar, the SPDG Generals. It will solve two problems at the same time.

Dear Pho Tha Gyar, if those hounds or hunting dogs’ were skinned alive, Tha Ger Min need not worry anymore for the continuous supply of dog leather as there are more than 400,000 SPDC-dog-soldiers. So in Burmese we could call ‘Nga Kyin sie nhint Nga Kyin kyaw thee’ or in other words Pho Tha Gyar could use the SPDC Hell Hounds’ hides or leathers to record the sins of SPDG Regime.

Dear Great Bandula,

this is a very meticulously researched and written article with an excellent “compare and contrast format”. You have discovered some very uncanny parallelisms.
Please do a similar one on Sein and Shwe (Saddam and Than) and let me contribute one fact:  Saddam headed the Baath Socialist Party, Thanshwe’s stepfather Ne Win headed the BSPP.
Also, Rangoon is like Kuwait or Basra and Mandalay is like Bagdad.
Actually Rgn to Mandalay is 440 miles whereas Rgn to Pyimana is about 300miles, about the same as Basra to Bagdad.
I once wrote a compare and contrast essay on
Karen.org about the geography and politics of Iraq and Burma and even included a dream-fantasy of the US invading Burma, following the same route to Bagdad except that the Burma invasion will be finished in just 3 days, not 3 weeks.
I love your article but the only thing I must say in the way of corrections is the number of SPDC soldiers and officers who must stand trial.
You mentioned the figure, “hundreds.”
I beg to differ and suggest you edit it to “hundreds of thousands” since you later at the end of your piece said there are more than 400,000 MAD sitt-khway, soldier-dogz (Myanmar Army Dictator’s, MAD)

Nearly all of USDA are just doing their business by being members (gwin yite nay gya dar bar, sar kaung ma lar loe).

Modern SPDC era comedy

Modern SPDC era comedy

_ Collected and conveyed by Maha Bandula

Burmese people are lighthearted and could look into and found the funny side even when they are frustrated and angry.

Let us see the witty jokes that Burmese people poke fun at the Myanmar Railways or Myanma Ya Htar in Burma using homonyms. In linguistics, a homonym is one of a group of words that share the same spelling or pronunciation (or both) but have different meanings. Homonyms are words that are spelled and pronounced alike but have different meanings.

They changed the name Myanma_Ya Htar to Myin Hma_ Ya Thar meaning something as seeing is believing. Nowadays trains never arrive in time. You could not rely on the official arrival time. Only when you see (in Burmese, Myin Hma) you are sure the train has arrived.

Train seats are classified as seated (Htine Khone) and sleeping coaches (Eik Sin).  As the railway tracks are very narrow, inferior quality, lack proper maintenance and the coaches are also old or refurbished second hands, commuters on the seats are feeling like riding on a jumping or galloping horse. Therefore, the original meaning of Khone in Burmese meaning seat is now used in the sense of Khone, meaning jumping.

Sleeping coaches (Eik Sin) also became to have another meaning; if you sleep on it you would be thrown away _ another meaning of Sin is being thrown out or thrown away.

The final nail to the coffin of SPDC was the last punch suggesting that as Myanmar is now an ASEAN member, to be sync or rhyme with the fellow ASEAN countries, Malaysia and Indonesia, SPDC had changed our country’s name into Yae Mee Sia. Yae is water and Mee is electricity and gasoline or petroleum. Sia (pronounce shar) means scarce or in short supply.

My Mother, while she was alive, sometimes would cook special noodles which were unusual for its particular content of meat and vegetables.
It was unlike any conventional Burmese noodle dish, since it was something new that she had concocted. When asked what it was called, she said it was, “Burmaysia Noodles.”
As you know, “Bur” in the Burmese way of pronouncing English comes out as “Bar” and this means “What”, or in this particular context, “Whatever” — as you will soon see.
“–may” means “ask”, and “sia” (pronounced “shah”) means “very rare and
hard to find, the opposite of abundant”
So her Burmaysia Noodles was really a satirical joke to that whatever ingredient you ask in her noodles, it is all very hard to get, i.e., bar bae may may, a kone shah dair. It was just a way of saying how hard it was to obtain any kind of food ingredients.

Regime’s Soldiers will die and Are going to Hell!

Regime’s Soldiers will die

and Are going to Hell!

Dear Comrades,

I am here on earth as the head of the Enquiry Commission sent by our Chief of Heaven Veteran Military Association; General Aung San to investigate why there is no more new arrival to heaven from Myanmar Military.

General Aung San’s Emerald bed’s foam mattress suddenly hardened as a warning sign of serious problems on earth. So our beloved General used his ‘Diva Sakkhu’ or Angel Telescope to investigate and saw two things:

1) His daughter Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is unfairly imprisoned by SPDC.

2) BIA, BDA and armies around the world have common motto: Soldiers never die and if die never go to hell. (Ye’ baw ma thay- Thay thou nga yae’ ma lar) But General Aung San was shocked to see the present status of Myanmar Military, now Myanmar Soldiers are dying and all of them are going to Hell!

Our General Aung San did not worry anything about his daughter. He already understood that his daughter is following his path and is merely collecting merits to join him later. Not like when he was young as a BIA soldier or 30 Comrade: he now understands that struggling, sacrificing is far more important than the end result. Struggling for a just cause or traveling a worthy journey is your present effort. Results may depend on many factors including the ‘Kamma’ or fate. He now used to teach us that we must have a definite worthy, noble destination and sincere effort with all our mental and physical strength is good enough.

He shouted and asked us, “What that BASTARDS SPDC Generals and Myanmar Military personals are doing? There is no more new arrival of Bama Army personals to heaven. And the Hell is almost jammed with Bama Soldiers and their leaders.”

I thought General Aung San had made a mistake in searching the Haven and Hell census. As the heaven’s ‘computer’ system is sometimes very sensitive and we need to ask the definite totally correct questions to get the required data. I thought he searched for Bama/Burma or BIA/BDA words only. So I tried to search in the latest powerful Angel’s computer search engine with the Myanmar/Myanmar Military/SPDC/Kyant Phut/Myanmar MI etc words. The results are shockingly the same. In the Haven list it is nil and on the heaven computer screen only “no matching data or names found’ words came out. In the hell list, I even could not believe my eyes, even my Angel’s computer almost hanged! My computer barely could handle the huge list of Myanmar Military personals in hell.

Our General sometimes still acts like when he was young, especially if he is excited or angry. He shouted at me “SOB, (but he never meant to bad mouth or really meant it) Maha Bandula, why can’t you trust me, why are you trying to double check my words?”

I just smile with pride, salute him and stand in attention in front of him. Actually it is no need to follow these formalities in Haven for us but both of us like this kind of reciprocal respect. And this conversation explains itself why I am here on earth as the head of the Enquiry Commission.

First of all I have to introduce my self. I started my service under the son of Bo Daw Paya as an almost unknown ordinary person Maung Yit or Nga Yit. During Ba Gyi Daw I was already promoted to the chief commander post in attacking Manipur. I became famous and well known since that battle. After that I was ordered to attack Assam and I successfully accomplished my task. Later I successfully fought back the Colonial invaders in Shin Mapyu Island, at the delta of Nat (Naff) river in Arakan. Because of my bravery, even the Empire soldiers in Calcutta, India were frightened.

While I was in Arakan, Empire navy attacked and conquered Dagon (Yangon). My army travelled swiftly through mountainous Rakhine and attacked Yangon in a short period of time; see I already had a rapid strike force since then! And that even surprised the Empire leaders. I died as a brave warrior later in the battlefield, while defending the country. Now I hope comrade could recall me, Maha Bandula, one of the most famous and brave commanders in Burmese history. And I even never dreamt to take over the administration of my country. People give salary, employed us to serve them and to protect them.

My concept is based on very simple basic idea. I never believe that just because we are strong, had a united force, armed, protect and save the people; we should take over the country to govern the people. If not all the security guards would take over all the banks, shops, supermarkets and factories just because they are well armed and they had look after the safety of the management or admin people and all the staff and workers.

Actually my boss, General Aung San was one day younger than me, according to Nat Thet or Heaven Time measurement. But because of my sin of assaulting the innocent person sitting in front of me to attract the attention of the king, I just became deputy to General Aung San who is free from blemish.

Kyansittha was also even one day of heaven age older than me but he had committed some sins. Anawrattha ordered him just to punish the Shwe Byin Gyi and Shwe Byin Gale but he overacted and killed both of those young warriors may be because of a jealousy, so he had to serve in hell and later only joined us in heaven. As his position is naturally much younger than me, General Aung San put him in the commission as my deputy only.

Bayint Naung and Alaung Phaya had also committed some sins of killing the fellow Buddhist Mons and Thais so they arrived heaven only recently after serving some short stint or terms in hell. So they were just commissioned as clerks to record our findings.

At first our General Aung San do not notice the problem because nowadays there is actually a massive increase of new Military Personals arriving heaven from the various part of the world as there are a lot of freedom fighters, defenders of the countries because of increased conflicts or war activities in your time.

Actually I am also in charge of the care takers at Hell for the Veteran Military personals. (You see I abstained from using men and used personals as we are also quite advanced in abolishing gender discrimination even in the heaven.) I had already noticed the strange behaviour change of General Ne Win in the Hell. At first we thought he was happy because his relatives, grand children and son-in-law, are going to join him soon. But the official report indicated that he was elated after he got the news from his adopted son General Khin Nyunt’s MI leaders who recently joined him in hell. New comers ex-Myanmar Military Intelligent agents had reported General Ne Win about the present Myanmar Military leaders’ secret fails in detail. General Ne Win was sure he had a chance of slight relief from the severest punishment positions as Senior General Than Shwe’s record is far more worse than his records. He got the news that Than Shwe had a mild cardiac attack and is going to join him at hell soon.

Once we landed at your human earth I heard a rumor that General Ne Win’s daughter Lt Colonel Sandar Win was mad, passed away and joined her father at hell. I had to investigate that later.

Before the real investigations we do our own research about the Myanmar Military. I was shocked to know the details. What kind of army they are? Why they commit all those atrocities? I could not believe the truth. I am even afraid to inform our General Aung San, how his Burma army, BIA/BDA, independence fighter, defender of the people had transformed into a monster Myanmar Military!

I tried to call al the SPDC Generals for the investigations. As I could not reveal my true identity, I disguised as a gun runner trying to sell nuclear secrets. I approached U Tay Za, their front businessman and he asked US 10 million introduction fees and 10% of the business deals. Their secretaries asked the same amount and their wives asked US 30 million and 30% of the deal. At last I have to settle to meat with the Senior General Than Shwe because I am fed up with their corrupt attitudes..

Because they do not openly say they want USD but “Green ones” in Burmese, (Ah Sein) at first I thought they meant to ask for Myanmar Kyats. As I had come to Burma with different delegations before, and as I love my General Aung San too much, I took out Burmese Kyats with our general’s pictures from my special Angle brief case. The Senior General face changed with fright and anger once he saw our General Aung San face. Then only I know I had done wrong. I had to use my special powers to give retrograde amnesia to Senior General Than Shwe and all those at the meeting. And then I have to change all the bank notes into US Dollars.

Once all the bribing was done with USDs, all of their faces became sweet, friendly and the dealings are smooth and easy. Actually I ordered all the Commission members to stay invisible and to keep quite during all the proceedings. Then only I started to try my luck to dig out all the hidden aims and objects of Senior General Than Shwe. I told him that I was not the person they think but the real Ex-Yugoslavia president Slobodan Milošević.

With my angel power I rubbed my face and acted as if I pulled off my mask. I heard that those SPDC Generals were almost illiterate and have no much general knowledge, but I was surprised because he immediately recognized me although he could not speak for a while because of shock. Actually SPDC Senior General Than Shwe was my fan. He was so happy to know that I am ‘alive’ and my ‘fake clone’ was ‘killed’ because the ‘clone’ could not stand the humiliation at the UN’s International Criminal Tribunal at Hague for the former Yugoslavia.

Once the stupid Than Shwe was convinced that I was Slobodan Milošević, he started to reveal all the secrets even before I started to enquire. Now only I saw the surprised respectful faces of those three old warrior kings of Burma viz: Kyansittha, Bayint Naung and Alaung Phaya. Of course, the idiot Than Shwe, gate keeper/tool collector Daw Kyine Kyine, Nga Tay Za (I hate him because he took my boss General Aung San’s and my friend Dr Tayza’s name), the secretary and the translator could not see or hear us, the angels. Note: I even also saw the surprised and congratulatory nod of boss General Aung San, watching us in heaven.

Once they were convinced I am Slobodan Milošević they immediately offer me ‘the golden key to their Nay Pyi Daw or widely know as Yan Lon Myo or Kyat Pye Myo. They also offer me to help and work for them as the advisor to the SPDC but especially as a personal advisor to Than Shwe.

Although I already knew what they would answer, I asked them whether they want my expertise as a person to develop their Myanmar in Science and Technology. As I had suspected, Than Shwe smiled and told me to teach them my expertise in various methods of Ethnic Cleansing. They want to learn my experience in ethnic cleansing of the Croatian Christians and Bosnia Muslims. He told me that he wished to annihilate especially the Kayin Christians and all the Muslims from Myanmar esp. Rohingyas. He continued that the Chin and Kachin Christians are also nuisance for him that needed to be eliminated. And he continued that although Buddhists, he hated Shans and Mons and wish to wipe out all of them also. Most of the NLD members are also Buddhists but he wished to get rid of them esp. my boss General Aung San’s daughter Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.

He continued to answer my questions non stop, incessantly without much prodding from me. He explained me that they, SPDC and Myanmar Military have four basic strategies to destroy some of its own people, not the whole population but those who are against the concept of permanent domination and rule of Myanmar Military and trying for Democracy and Federalism.

He made it clear that even if they have to annihilate the whole or may be hopefully only the part of the section of the following groups they do not like by the following strategy:

(i) Destroying the national groups of Myanmar, NLD, SNLD and other oppositions.

(ii) Destroying many Ethnic Minority groups like Shan, Kayin, Chin, Kachin, Mon and Rohingya

etc.

(iii) Destroying some of the Ethnic Minority races of the Myanmar/Burma as stated above.

(iv) Destroying some of the Religious groups like Christians, Muslims and even some Buddhists

………..are also the target of annihilation.

I am shocked to hear from the Senior General Than Shwe’s own ‘confession’ of the SPDC and Myanmar Military’s crimes of committing the following atrocities on its own citizens:

1. Killings members of the above groups, extra-judicially and also in the jails.

2. Physical destructions of houses, religious places, villages etc

3. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the above groups.

4. Raping the ethnic minorities aiming ethnic cleansing and to intimidate them.

5. Robbing the properties and possessions of all the above groups.

6. Torturing all the political prisoners.

7. Jailing the NLD leaders, Shan leaders and all the opposition leaders.

8. Imposing restricted movements on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and NLD leaders, all the Muslims and esp. Rohingyas.

9. Preventing or disturbing the daily struggle for a livelihood of all the citizens of Myanmar.

10. Daily alteration of orders or laws to restrict or disturb the daily activities of all the people of Myanmar.

11. Denying of all the Basic Human Rights to all its citizens of all the groups in opposition, NLD, Ethnic Minorities, Minority Religious groups.

12. Robbing the political power from the people and election winner NLD and oppositions.

13. Cheating all the people of Myanmar/Burma and even tried to cheat the whole world.

14. Than Shwe laughed and told me (actually us as he could not see the rest of my members) how he and SPDC had fooled UN Secretary General’s special envoy Mr Razali Ismail and the U.N. human rights envoy to Burma, Mr. Paulo Pinheiro.

15. Than Shwe continued with their new plan to fool ASEAN’s representative, Malaysian FM Syed Hamid Alba. His visit was forced to postpone because Senior Generals hate the outsider’s interference and does not want to meet him. Actually he does not even want to show the sign of a start of a dialogue. Than Shwe believed that they could just continue to buy time by showing fake forward movement of few steps and backtrack later.

By then we, the whole committee and our Chairman General Aung San got the verdict that Senior General Than Shwe, SPDC generals and cohorts are guilty of the GENOCIDE according to our heavenly laws and would be condemned to the worst level of Hell for almost infinite period.

(I hereby wish to clarify or remind some of our Burmese Digest readers about the basic facts that we possess special powers of Angels and could instantly conduct an investigation, deliberate, wrote the report and could get the feed back about our report from our boss in a flick of time. Our procedure is not like SPDC Generals’ seven step Road Map which could take seven centuries to accomplish!)

Although our job was accomplished, I just continue to have a small talk with Than Shwe. He worshipped me (actually not me but the Ex-Yugoslavia president Slobodan Milošević) like a god and is trying to follow my footsteps. He even awarded me back all the USDs I had bribed and promised me that he could pay 100 times more of that money as the cash flow was not a problem for him as he could get easily from the poppy growers, drug traders, businessmen and other foreign investors.

To complete my mission or to ice my cake of task to reveal his true character and their basic idealogy, I asked some more questions. The transcript is as follows:

Q. ‘Ex-Yugoslavia president Slobodan Milošević’ (that is me).

Why did you and General Ne Win stop commemorating 27th March as Revolution Day_ a day to mark anti-fascist revolution led by Bogyoke Aung San.

A. SPDC Senior General Than Shwe.

We hate or actually fear the name, Revolution Day because we know that the whole population of Myanmar don’t like us and are day dreaming for a revolution. So we changed the name to Tatmadaw day_ since 1962.

Q. But the original Revolution Day is related to very important anti fascist revolution. leading to Independence of your country.

A. Yes, we don’t like the name especially because of that. The original name indicated and directly linked with anti fascism. We love to practice military fascism. Fascism is the only way to end the colonist. We were trained by the Fascism Japan and we still worshipped that idea.

Q. How do you see the allies of the Fascism Japan, Hitler of Germany?

A. We looked up to Hitler’s Germany as our lighthouse. His powerful struggle to dominate the world and the Ethnic Cleansing on the Jews are also wonderful. The Muslims and the Ethnic Minorities are the Jews of Myanmar. We must annihilate all of them that stay on our noble path to eternal Military dominance.

Q. But that anti fascist revolution had lead to Independence of your country.

A. We never got any Independence of your country till our father, General Ne Win took over the country and librated it from the hands of corrupted politicians and Federalists who were planning to divide our country into pieces. And we know some of the people are wishing for the second Independence of the country from us. We would never give them real Independence; they have to depend on us always. We would be permanent rulers of the country.

Q. What is your future plan with the opposition?

A. Those stupid NLD, opposition and Ethnic Minority groups: all want to destroy and divide our country. They are the stooges of old colonists. We have to annihilate all of them.

Q. What about the Mons and Shans, they are also Buddhists like you all?

Note: (Actually this question is not mine. My deputy Kyansittha act like me and asked. He later apologized me as he had a soft spot and pity the Queen of Anawrattha a Shan. And he also love his Mon wife too much. Actually because of the good deed of giving his Kingdom to a Mon mixed blooded son to get peace in the country had saved him from hell. His son Raja Kumar’s good deeds and prayers for him also help him a place in heaven.)

A. I don’t care whether they are Buddhists or not. They are traitors. I have to finish my ancestor Burmese Kings’ unfinished job to annihilate them

Q. Talking about the ancestors, do you wish to get the place of your ancestor Thi Baw Min and General Ne Win?

A. Sure! My Royal astrologers predicted that I would be even above their position in a near future.

My final remarks back to SPDC Senior General Than Shwe:

Yes, your Majesty. I really believed that it is true. I am sure Your Majesty would definitely get their places and at last all the humans could see that Your Majesty Senior General Than Shwe is really going to get the highest position above all of them.

(Actually I am not bluffing, I really know that he is dying soon and he would take the place of Thi Baw Min and General Ne Win. At least Ne Win had got redemption before he died and not as bad as Than Shwe. Thi Baw Min is also in the worse place in the hell because of killing of hundreds of his cousins in palace coup d’état. But once he became king he got redemption. And he had been doing good deeds while he was in exile in India. So we all know that the whole group of SPDC Generals would go to hell and Than Shwe will have to suffer in the worst place in hell.

Conclusion: So we all, the entire Enquiry Commission members and our Chief of Heaven Veteran Military Association; General Aung San concluded our investigation of why there is no more new arrival to heaven from Myanmar Military, with the heavy heart.

We understand that we have to accept the truth. And anyway, the Military in Burma is no more our BIA, BDA or Bama Tatmadaw but the Myanmar Military or Myanma Tatmadaw.

They have to reap what they sow.

So we hereby officially change our BIA, BDA and Bama Tatmadaw’s motto:

“Soldiers never die and if die never go to hell.” or in Burmese:

Ye’ baw ma thay- Thay thou nga yae’ ma lar to……

“Myanmar Soldiers will die and are going to Hell!” or in Burmese:

“Ye’ baw thay myi – Thay thou nga yae’ lar myi”

So we say good bye,

See Your Majesty later (in hell) and came back.

Mission accomplished.

MAHA BANDULA.

This is really excellent satire that should also be written in Burmese if not done so already, and distributed by phamphlets across the border into Burma.  It is important all Burmese soldiers read it, and laugh when they read about where their bosses are going, but later they will weep as they know they will also go to hell.

Perhaps such a funny satire such as this will help our soldiers see the truth — amyin hman yaht.– and perhaps then they will defect or revolt and become the true Saviors of the People and Nation.

It will be good to include pictures of hell obtained, photographed from the phaya zaung dan in the pagodas in Burma as this will help conviince our troops. Overall, my suggestion is in support of Dr. Tayza’s original idea of sending hard copies of BD into Burma. Why not try a one-page flyer such as this article first?  Include some pretty actress and singer pictures so the receiver will not want to throw it away.

Congratulations to General Maha Bandula!

U Razak

Abdul Razak

By Yeni

The honor roll of Burmese “martyrs” assassinated alongside Gen Aung San in 1947 includes a Muslim name: Abdul Razak, elected chairman of the Burma Muslim Congress.

Razak was just 50 when he was gunned down with his comrades on the fateful July day that has since become “Martyr’s Day.”

He studied at Rangoon University, took part in the anti-British student demonstrations in 1920 and then demonstratively switched to a Bachelor of Arts course with the alternative Council of National Education established by Burmese nationalists. Though a Muslim, the young Razak became highly proficient in Buddhist studies and the Pali language.

For 20 years—from 1922-42—he worked as superintendent of the Central National High School in Mandalay, and insisted on cultivating national spirit among his students. A staunch nationalist, he once declared that for every civil servant turned out by British colonial places of learning, his school produced “10 revolutionaries.”

Razak encouraged his pupils to form a student union and to participate fully in social activities, particularly sport. He employed a former Indian boxing champion to train his students, some of whom went on to represent Burma at the Olympic Games.

During World War II he was detained, along with other Burmese nationalists, by Japanese police. Gen Aung San organized a rescue plan, but Razak rejected it because it did not include his comrades. “He didn’t want to be free alone,” a retired colonel recalled.

British troops freed him from Mandalay prison, and Razak became a prominent leader of the Anti-Fascist People’s Freedom League of Upper Burma. He also organized the Muslims throughout Burma under the AFPFL flag, in preparation for the approaching struggle for independence.

Razak rejected the idea of a separated Muslim country when Pakistan initiated its separation from India. In May, 1946, he used the press to call upon Muslims not to show any sympathy toward Pakistan and urging them to be a strong and respected community in Burma, without weighing down the national development.

He was appointed minister of education and national planning in Burma’s pre-independence government—the start of a political career brought brutally to an end by assassins’ bullets on July 19, 1948.

“For us, he is a great leader, like Gen Aung San, said the editor of a Rangoon journal. Not, however, for the Rangoon regime—who have effectively removed his name from Burma’s pantheon by suppressing his biography.

U Razak

U Razak  (20 January 189819 July 1947; Arabic: Abdul Razak) was a Burmese politician who was a respected educationalist. He was a minister and was assassinated, along with his cabinet, on 19 July 1947. July 19 is celebrated in Myanmar today as Martyrs’ Day. U Razak was Minister of Education and National Planning, and was chairman of the Burma Muslim Congress.

Abdul Razak was born in Meiktila on 20 January 1898. He studied at the Wesleyan School in Mandalay, and continued his studies at the Rangoon College, earning a B.A. degree in English. Throughout his school years, Razak was involved in athletics.

In 1920, Razak was a leader in organising the first Burmese student boycott to the British colonial education system. In 1921, he became headmaster of Mandalay National High School. Razak’s natural charisma was effective in persuading the Mandalayans. When Japan invaded Burma in World War II, he was imprisoned.

In 1945, Abdul Razak was named chairman of the Mandalay branch of Anti-Fascist People’s Freedom League (AFPFL) and was elected a Member of Parliament to represent Mandalay. He was Minister of Education and National Planning in Aung San‘s Cabinet. It is stated that when U Razak was attended to in the immediate aftermath of the assassination on 19 July 1947, he asked that his colleagues be taken care of before himself. He died on 19 July 1947 together with other cabinet members.

Razak initiated calls for unity between Burmese Muslims and Buddhists. He was a devout Muslim, but maintained ties to Buddhism, educating himself on Pali, the sacred script of Theravada Buddhism, and helped found the Mandalay Degree College (modern Mandalay University. Razak fathered three children.
