Al-Kafiroon
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Say: O ye that reject Faith! (1)

Nor will ye worship that which I worship. (3)

AYAT 1000 DINAR

It’s time for Asean to act

from:The Star Online/Opinion

I READ with sadness and apprehension that the fighting Aung Shan Su Kyi is now resorting to a hunger strike, seemingly at the lack of progress in her fight for justice.

Year after year, she was silenced by house arrest by the military junta with no end in sight.

Envoy after envoy from the UN and talks after talks from Asean member countries did not succeed even to move the ever-mighty junta a single inch.

One wonders, are diplomacy and engagement tactics still working in such an environment of brutal apathy?

The military junta has shown a bad example to all governments in the world that might is right, and the powerful can be successful.

I wonder when Asean will take the bold move to expunge Myanmar from its membership to show them that everything is not right.

Surely, Myanmar has become a dark spot in Asean. After all, diplomacy has failed.

I think it’s the right time to isolate them politically while not withholding some economic measures for the poor.

I believe Myanmar is now only holding on to Asean as the west has already sidelined it.

It’s time Asean consolidate to show its strength for something all member countries know is very wrong.
