THIS TRUE DEFENDER OF ISLAM AND THE RIGHTS OF MANY

The rakyat awaits your homecoming, a candlelight vigil will adorn the street in front of the prison-industrial complex built by those who designed architecture of structural-violence, unseen by the naked eyes of the rakyat. Like the candles that await Sita Devi and like the candle-lights that bathes Jelaluddin Rumi, the light from the rakyat soothes and calms your bruised spirit in their patient wait for your freedom.

To be, or not to be: that is the question:

Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer

The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, ’tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish’d.

Asia’s Muslims in Ramadan

Reuters: Asia’s Muslims put on a feast for fasting month

Aromatic beef porridge. Spicy snails. Rich mutton and wheat stew. Sweet vermicelli milk pudding, and lots and lots of dates. Ramadan may be a month of fasting, but for many Asian Muslims it’s a gastronomical feast.Food is as much a part of Ramadan, the holy month which began last week, as religious fervor, with Muslims devoting many hours to cooking the perfect meal to break the dawn-to-dusk fast.

Anger: Causes and Remedy

By Ibn Qudamah Al-Maqdisi
Translated By Wa’il Shihab

Anger is a flame of fire, and when man is angry he has some relation to the accursed Satan who said, as the Qur’an tells, [… Thou didst create Me from fire, and him from clay.] (Al-A`raf: 12)

Anger is condemned in Islam because it produces malevolence and envy. Once a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), “Advise me!” and the Prophet said, “Do not become angry.” The man asked (the same) again and again, and the Prophet said each time, “Do not become angry.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari)

Causes and Remedy of Anger

The remedy of any defect mainly depends on the elimination of its causes. Self-admiration, joking, argumentation, and betrayal are among the primary causes of anger. Undoubtedly, these are ill morals that the Shari`ah condemns, and in order to get rid of them, people should treat each of them with its opposite.

The Greatest Love of All

By Umm Thameenah
Freelance Writer—UK

[And of people are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else)] (Al-Baqarah 2:165)

If I asked you, have you ever felt true love?

What would you say? Would you think about your spouse? Parents? children? Siblings? Friends? What would your answer be?

How many married people remember the day they glanced over at their spouse and realized in that very moment that they were in love? And how many Muslim women remember the love, joy, and happiness that entered their hearts on the day they gave birth?

Although these examples are realities of life, the true love that I speak of is one that fills all hearts, without an atom’s weight left untouched.
