Dear FM Rais, what are you going to say: “If any one throw slippers at one of the ASEAN leaders”

Dear FM Rais, what are you going to say:

“If any one throw slippers at one of the ASEAN leaders”

This arrogant and Foreign Minister (ex-culture minister) had addressed the Ambassador of Turkey, even on TV,  with the word encik and deliberately avoid using HE or His Excellency during DSSAI saga. FMS should not be rude to avoid protocol.

And when he became a minister, he supported ISA, which was the thesis of his PhD. He was dishonest academic or has no academic integrity  when his anti-ISA thesis was just an academic exercise!

When others, US Algore used Reformarsi or ex Ausi PM used recalcitrant on them they are very sensitive.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20 — Foreign Minister Datuk Rais Yatim has praised the Iraqi journalist who tossed his shoes at US President George W. Bush, saying it was the “best show of retaliation” for the US invasion of Iraq.

Rais praised “the shoe-throwing act by that remarkable reporter who gave President Bush his final farewell last week.”

“That shoe-throwing episode, in my view, is truly the best weapon of mass destruction to the leader who coined the phrase ‘axis of evil’ to denote Iran, Iraq and North Korea,” he said in a speech last night at a dinner to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the United Nations.

Television reporter Muntadar al-Zeidi stunned observers when he threw both his shoes at Bush during a press conference in Baghdad with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Dec 14. Bush deftly ducked out of the way both times.

The reporter also shouted in Arabic, “This is your farewell kiss, you dog!” In Iraqi culture, throwing shoes at someone is a sign of deep contempt.

So does that mean I can throw a shoe at Rais and say he deserved it?

It would be my honour.

I am angry with this minister who admires uncultured behaviour. Will he he praise me if I threw my shoe at him?

I hope US President Elect Barrack Obama will take note of “official” stand of Malaysian government. Not one leader in this world who uses diplomacy and common sense in dealing with many issues pertaining to Iraq or American’s involvement in Middle East crisis have come with such STUPID statement regarding that shoe throwing incident except this  Rais!!Well done.
Guess this ars*hole follows Mahataik rhetoric by bashing American ideology and values.Keep talking cock la Rais. Let American know what kind of idiots are running this country.Bodoh punya menteri!!

There are also several Govt. ministers I am annoyed at. Does it mean i should also throw my shoes at them? And would Rais congratulate me also and make sure I would be honoured?

I do not agree with what Bush did in Iraq. And I think he should be hauled up before an international court of law and tried for what he did. But I would not throw my shoe at him because that would justify an American throwing a shoe back at our leaders when they are in the US.

Bush is a President as a result of a free and fair elections. If Rais thinks it’s fair to throw shoes at a foreign dignatory, especially one who has been properly elected, what this effectively means is since Malaysian leaders are chosen from a defective election process, foreigners can even react with wilder abandon by throwing not only shoes but books, plastic bottles and stones at our leaders when they are overseas.

I shudder to hear Rais Yatim our former minister of National Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage utter such words. I had much respect for him for his early book against ISA but has since moved on when he took a different stance. For a Muslim to encourage disrespect and inciting hatred for a fellow human being, I find him abhorrent. I hope he will clarify his statement and said he was misquoted.
