 The chairman of the Jewish Community of Rome, Riccardo Pacifici – voted in on a ticket expressly called “For Israel” – recently announced that the Union of Italian Jewish Communities (UCEI) was about to donate 300,000 Euros’ worth of medicine to the victims of the war in Gaza: 200,000 to “the children and people of Gaza”, 100,000 to the “children and civilians” of Israel.

Malaysia Govt may legalise illegal workers

 

IMMIGRATION director-general Datuk Mahmood Adam says the government plans to legalise illegal workers in the country to better monitor them.

 

This is the Plan B the government will resort to if Plan A, which is to impose a minimum compound fine on foreigners who overstayed for a short period, to encourage them to go back to theircountry as soon as possible, does not work out.

WASHINGTON — US President George W Bush will discuss the current situation in Burma along with other issues when he meets with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday in the White House.

It will probably be Bush’s last meeting with Ban as the US President, the White House said. Before handing over the presidency to Barack Obama on January 20, Bush has invited Ban and his wife, Ban Soon-taek, to the White House for lunch.
