Country must bring back its talents, says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: The country must bring back its talents and provide incentives to keep them home if it plans to have an innovation-led economy where its primary driver is based on science, technology and innovation (STI), said the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said in order to achieve this, the country needs to develop high calibre STI human capital and make it a priority in mainstream economic planning.

Myanmar Prime Minister meets US senator, promises reforms

NEW YORK, Sept 29 — Myanmar’s prime minister met US Senator Jim Webb today after telling the UN General Assembly that the military rulers are pressing ahead with democratic reforms but want an end to sanctions.

Webb, who visited Myanmar in August, held talks with General Thein Sein, prime minister of the country formerly known as Burma, in New York on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
